    INCLUSION OF FORMER ATHLETES AND THEIR REACTIVATION THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN RECREATIONAL SPORTS ACTIVITIES

    VETERAN SPORTS
    Swimming Club Sprint – The sports club has a program Team Veterans which is designed for amateurs (20 years and older) with a sports spirit who want to improve their swimming skills through organized activities. The Veterans Team also provides the opportunity to participate in competitions of various scales: from city tournaments to national and international competition. The objectives of the program are precise mastery of all styles, improving the qualities – speed, general endurance, special endurance, improving the elements – start, turn, creating a social environment of like-minded people and friends, developing new skills, qualities and healthy habits useful for life and taking part (optional) in different rank competitions.
    Football tournament against violence – In the period 25-30 June 2019, the town of Balchik was held a football tournament under the motto For a better start. For the fifth year in a row, our resort town has become an arena for one of the largest social sports events on the native Black Sea coast. Children and veterans took part in the tournament.

    INCLUSION OF FORMER ATHLETES INTO THE SOCIAL COMMUNITY AFTER A SPORTS CAREER
    Dobromir Karamarinov – Former national 400m hurdles competitor for the period 1975 – 1980. Since 1993 he has been Secretary General of the Bulgarian Athletics Federation and 10 years later he became its president. He has been head of the delegations of the national teams of Bulgaria at World and European championships and tournaments, director of international competitions, technical delegate and delegate of the EAA Council for International Competitions, member of the EAA Competition Committee and Reflection Commission.
    Maria Gigova – She is the first big star of Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics. Her combinations are characterized by great difficulty, high speed and originality. Gigova is a three-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics for 1969, 1971 and 1973. She is a breve judge in FIG since 1975, honorary judge of FIG – 2002, member of the RGTC of FIG - 1978 - 1992, 2000 - 2004, 2005 - 2008, 2009 - 2012, 2013 – 2016 and an honorary member of FIG.
    Tseno Tsenov – He was a Bulgarian and international figure in wrestling. He worked in the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation as a secretary and later became its vice-president (until 1989) and chairman from 1990 to 1991. He was a member of the International Wrestling Federation and he later became a president of the European Wrestling Federation.
    Slavi Binev – Binev is a Bulgarian politician, MP in the 43rd National Assembly and former MEP. In 1987-1992 Binev was a multiple taekwondo champion of Bulgaria and a winner in many international competitions: absolute Balkan taekwondo champion in 1990, European champion at the open championship in Celje, Slovenia in 1992. In the period 1987 - 1994 he was the coach of the Bulgarian national taekwondo team. He has been an international instructor since 1988. The period 1991 - 1994 he was a senior coach in CSKA. Now he is the president of the European Taekwondo Federation.

    WORK IN THE SPORTS SYSTEM AT THE SPORTS CLUB OR THROUGH ASSOCIATIONS IN THE INTEREST OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPORTS AT THE CITY AND NATIONAL LEVEL
    Tania Bogomilova – Former breaststroke swimmer and an Olympic champion at the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics. She competed until 1991 and then worked as a coach in Greece, in the State Agency for Youth and Sports. She is a member of the Technical Commission for Open Water Swimming of FINA and in 2002 she became executive director of the Bulgarian Swimming Federation.
    Georgi Glushkov – At the age of 17 he is already a national player, and in the middle of the 80s of the last century he ranks among the five best basketball players in Europe. He attracted the attention of the American basketball team Phoenix Suns in 1985 and became the first player from Eastern Europe to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA) of the USA and Canada. He became president of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation in 2011.
    Maria Grozdeva – Grozdeva is an athlete №1 of Bulgaria for 2004, best athlete in the Balkans for 2004. She took 4th place in the 25 m small caliber pistol in Lahti, Finland in 2000 and is a holder of an Olympic and European record for a small-caliber pistol. Today Maria Grozdeva is the chairwoman of the Bulgarian Rifle Union.
    Vesela Lecheva – A Bulgarian shooting competetor and current politician. She won a silver medal from Seoul Olympic Games in 1988 and Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. Lecheva is five-time world champion, eight-time European champion and four-time World Cup winner. She is a member of the 39th and 40th National Assembly from the civil quota of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, as well as Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on Children, Youth and Sports. Since 2005 he has been Chairwoman of the State Agency for Youth and Sports.
    Stefka Kostadinova – Kostadinova is a two-time world champion at the championships in Rome in 1987 and in Gothenburg in 1995. She also has five titles from world championships – Paris 1985, Indianapolis 1987, Budapest 1989, Toronto 1993 and Paris 1997. She is a European champion from Stuttgart in 1986 and has four gold medals from the Old Continent Indoor Championships - Piraeus 1985, Lieven 1987, Budapest 1988 and Paris 1997. On August 30, 1987 at the World Athletics Championships in Rome, Italy, Kostadinova overcame the incredible 209 cm and she was only 22 years old. Till this day her world record havent been broken. On November 11, 2005 she became president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.
    Iliana Raeva – Former rhythmic gymnastics competitor and one of the golden girls of Neshka Robeva. In 1978 during the European Championship in Madrid, Spain she took 6th place, in 1979 during the World Championships in London, UK she won gold medal with bats and silver medal with ball. In 1980 during the European Championship in Amsterdam, the Netherlands she became absolute European all-around champion – gold medals on rope, hoop and bats and silver medal with ribbon, in fact, she is our first absolute European champion in rhythmic gymnastics. In 1993 Iliana Raeva established her own rhythmic gymnastics club, in 1999 she headed the Coaching Council of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation and since 2012 she is the president of the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation.
    Nikolai Buhalov – Bulgarian athlete, the most successful canoeist. He is the only Bulgarian athlete with two gold medals from one Olympic Games. He won two gold medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and a bronze medal at the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics. Buhalov has won five world titles in 1993, 1994 and 1995. His last title was at the European Championships in 1997, which took place on the rowing canal in Plovdiv. Since 2000 he has been an assistant coach of the national team, and since 2007 he has been a head coach. Today he is engaged with a fitness center in Plovdiv and is the president of the BF Canoe Kayak.
    Ekaterina Dafovska – She is the most successful Bulgarian biathlete. In her career she has won an Olympic title, a European title and two bronze medals from world championships. Dafovska also won a gold medal in the womens 15km individual at the 2004 European Biathlon Championships in Minsk. Then she made only two shooting mistakes and took first place with a total time of 46:14.7 minutes. Thus, she added the European title in this discipline to the Olympic title from Nagano. She is the president of the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation.
    Lyubomir Ganev – He is former Bulgarian volleyball player. He started his career in Danube Ruse. The volleyball player has been competing for CSKA for seven years, being the champion of Bulgaria 5 times. Since 1991 he has played for Italian teams - first in Alpitur and then in Agrigento, Spoleto and Fano. In his last year as an active player Ganev played one season in the Greek Aris, with which he became champion. In 1998 he ended his sports career and turned to business. He is known worldwide for its strong service –130 kilometers per hour (the speed is measured in Italy). Since March 13, 2020 he has been the President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.
    Zdravka Yordanova – She is a former Bulgarian academic rowing competitor. Her first success was a bronze medal at the World Championships in Nottingham in 1975. She won a gold medal in pairs at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. After the end of her active sports career, Zdravka worked as a journalist and commentator. Lecturer in journalism at the National Sports Academy. She actively works to promote fair play - National Ambassador for Sport, Tolerance and Fair Play to the Council of Europe, official representative of Bulgaria in the European Fair Play Movement. She is member of the management board of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee, President of the Bulgarian Masters Federation and the Balkan Athletics Masters Association.
    Kiril Nikolov – He is a Bulgarian sports orienteer and mountain runner. His best achievements are – 6th place at the World Cup 2009 in Hungary, 6th place at the European Championship 2010 in Bulgaria, 6th place at the World Cup 2012 in Switzerland, 2nd place at the European Championship 2012 in Sweden, winner of the 3 biggest relays in the World: Yukola, 10MILA and 25Manna in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, multiple Balkan and state orienteering champion: 2003 – 2015, state champion in cross country and mountain running: 2010 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015. He is known for his many records, among which are the passage of the route Kom – Emine in 4 days 13 hours and 5 minutes, second place in the speed climb of the Eiffel Tower (8:12 m), overtaking the Dragalevski lift with 6 seconds, conquering the five highest peaks in Bulgaria in less than 23 hours and many others. He is part of the Bulgarian Orienteering Federation.

    CAREER AFTER SPORTS CAREER – ECONOMIC SEGMENT
    General Nonka Matova – She is a former Bulgarian athlete, sport shooter, politician and public figure. Matova has world and European records in rifle shooting, championship titles and a total of over 600 medals. Her sports career is impressive – she participated in the Olympics in Montreal 1976, Moscow 1980, Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Games of Goodwill – Moscow 1984. She is an Olympic runner-up at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Nonka Matova sets 11 world records in rifle shooting – two of them for men and 28 European records – two of which for men. She was a member of the 39th National Assembly. She is a Board Member of the Bulgarian Shooting Federation and First Deputy Chairwoman of the Bulgarian Union for Physical Education and Sports. Matova is a lecturer and a coach at the National Sports Academy and is the only female general in the recent history of the country. Matova is a Member of the Parliament from the National Movement for Stability and Rise in the period 2001 – 2005, chairwoman of the Thracian Society – Plovdiv and is part of the Union of Thracian Societies.
    Evgeni Ivanov – He is a former Bulgarian national volleyball player. He was in the Bulgarian national team from 1992 to 2008 where he has a total of 233 matches. He took part in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, where he finished ninth, and fifth in Beijing in 2008. He is a bronze medalist at the World Volleyball Championship in Tokyo – 2006 and took 4th place at the European Championship in Athens in 1995. He is a bronze medalist at the World Cup in Japan in 2007.After the Beijing Games, he announced his desire to end his career in the National Team. After his volleyball career he became a founder and owner of the first private organization dealing with sports management, marketing and public health in Bulgaria – ASEM GROUP Ltd. Evgeni Ivanov also develops authors projects related to prevention and care for childrens health, supports national campaigns promoting childrens and youth sports and promotes physical activity for the whole family as a healthy lifestyle. In 2015 he was the sports director of the European Volleyball Championship. From 2015-2016 he is the director of the National Volleyball League.
    Ivet Lalova – Lalova is a Bulgarian athlete competing in the 60, 100 and 200 meters sprint and is among the 12 fastest women in the history of 100 meters. She is an European 100m champion in Helsinki 2012, European 200m indoor champion in Madrid 2005. Bulgarias national record holder in the 100m and 200m indoor. Participated in 4 Olympics – Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016. Lalova is the President of Ivet Lalova Sports Club Sprint Academy. The sports club was established in 2012 in Sofia and is a member of the Bulgarian Athletics Federation, the club develops both professional and amateur sports. Its mission is to support the development of athletics in Bulgaria.
    Lyubomir Ganev – He is former Bulgarian volleyball player. He started his career in Danube Ruse. From December 2012 Lyubomir Ganev and his company Kay Diffusion Ltd. is a representative of ASICS for Bulgaria. Entrepreneurship is embedded in him, and his commercial flair leads him through opportunities from importing clothes for giants through coffee distribution. There are successes and failures, but the most emblematic remains his business with methane systems and installations, which he successfully developed not only in our country but also in the Balkans. At the moment his company Remix Bulgaria is among the European leaders in the production of means for transportation and storage of compressed natural gas.
    Yordan Yovchev – is the most successful Bulgarian gymnast. He participated in six consecutive Olympics from 1992 to 2012. He thus became the first gymnast to participate
